President Muhammadu Buhari today being the 9th of December 2019 has nominated Mohammed M. Nami as the new Federal Internal Revenue Services (FIRS) chairman.
This was in the statement issued by the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.
Things you need to know about Mohammed Nami
Mohammed Nami obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree at Bayero University Kano in 1991, and his Master’s in Business Degree at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2004.
He started his Career in 1993 with PFK, and rose to position of senior consultant in charge of Tax management and advisory services.
Nami is a expert when it comes to rendering advisory support services to business owners or intending investors.
Mr. Nami is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Associate Member of Nigeria Institute of Management, Institute of Debt Recovery Practitioners of Nigeria, and Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.
Before being appointed as the chairman of FIRS, Mr. Nami is the managing consultant of Manam Professional Service based in Kaduna, Abuja, Niger State.
He has about 30 years practical working experience in Auditing, Tax Management and Advisory and Management Services to clients in different sectors: the bank, manufacturing, public sectors and non-profit organizations.
He was appointed as a member, Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Stolen Assets in November, 2017 by President Buhari.
